2027 Versys 900/900 SE

No indication of the weight on the K website or MCN preview. Needs to be under 200kg to garner interest from those looking at the Tiger Sport.

if the 1100 is 255/9 depending on tat bolted to it

likely to be 230 hopefully

200kg isnt gonna happen when the 650 is 217

That middleweight marketplace looks a tad crowded already.

Spec looks decent, if they can get the price is right. The Versys 1100 price point, when one includes all the usual touring bells & whistles, has looked a bit salty for some time.

The Chinese have set the scene when it comes to the value for money calculation - price high in the mid-market where Kawasaki pitch & you invite slow sales T/O after the initial push, which can lead to dealers discounting late season, which then undermines residuals & customer loyalty.

Not a chance .
That motor is superb in the Z900rs at around 110 bhp

To make it A2 compliant that means the Versys must be no more than 94 bhp, wonder what the torque figure is
The Versys 900 is 120 bhp and 97.3 Nm (71.8 lb-ft) torque.

Agreed. 225-230kgs ish I reckon

Looks good value. Around £11k
Sensible wheel sizes. Personally would like just a tad more than 122bhp. Depends if the low and mid range are strong enough...and the weight.
Better looking exhaust than the cbf1000 thing.

See absolutely no requirement for adaptive cruise or collision control, both a complete pain in the arse on my last two cars.

Get the Versys 1100 then .
122 bhp is pretty good for a 900cc.
It’s more than the competition such as Tracer 9 or GS

I agree. My Tiger Sport has 114 bhp and that's plenty for me. More is available if I choose a heavier bike, which I wanted to avoid

My Vstrom is ‘only’ 82 bhp but is more than enough as it’s got loads of midrange .
People always want more .
This Versys is 120 bhp so peeps want 130. If it was 130 they’d want 140 🤦‍♂️

Disgraceful - some beggars even ride pseudo cruisers with over 160 bhp on tap, when 100 horses would suffice.

The cooking z900 street bike has around 125 bhp and the 900rs has around 118 bhp; so this should be bang between the two; it may have the Zs gearing as it does'nt even pretend to do off rd; it looks roomy enough and all day rideable and being a kawasaki 4 you always know what your getting with grunt; looks like kawasaki have all the bases covered in the 900 section; sporty; retro and now all rounder; price does'nt look too bad either; and i'am hoping that centre stand is standard; something the other 2 don't have or my SX. I've just shown it her and she said; you've tried one and bought yours; could'nt tell the difference; :D

if you unleashed the 181 at one end of your island would you make french mainland :D

I think for solo use that is in the "sweet spot", the GPZ900R had 115BHP, and it was the worlds fastest production bike in 1984 and IIRC took 7 of the first 10 places in the unlimited TT production race, probably similar weight.

If they can resist putting semi-active suspension, radar cruise, keyless ignition, and some Android / Apple tablet that will just stop working after 5 years as it is not compatible with latest phones / software then I might be very interested....

...I love my KTM 1290 for the huge torque it has, but typically I very rarely go past 6,000RPM which is ~100BHP, so I should be just fne with a bit left in reserve, just need to use the gearbox a bit more.

If it means I have a bike I can service easily myself, has little high tech that needs a main dealer and cannot easily be fixed by any mechanic or some specialist, then I am very interested....

...The Tracer would of been an obvius choice until Yamaha fitted a ton of tech to what was a budget bike, doubled the price and left it with the same budget finish - £15k for something that rots as soon as a cloud blows past.
