25 Miles and problems...

Bod, you jump in at every opportunity to say the same stuff, we noted what you said the first time.
I am waiting for my new Adv and if it turns out to be a pile a crap then I will deal with it.
Right now I am sitting on my terrace in the south of France wondering how I got this far without advice from people like you.
My advice to you is stop torturing yourself about your BM experience, move on and stop being a pain in the ass! We are enthusiastic about GSs, warts and all!:beerjug:

Not the same stuff every time read my posts, also Sitting in my terrace in France wondering how I got this far, whats that mean ??? you have money, big deal. I have moved on I have sold the ADV read the posts.

Oh mercy Dahoun we dont have to hear it again do we.
Hers a precie
BMW are crap, the people at BMW are crap the dealers are crap the bikes crap and the boards crap for taking off posts that are from non sponsors trying to sell stuff.

I'll tell you whats really crap. Folks who get a BMW, dont like it for whatever reason so flog it or trade it and then keep coming back here waiting for a negative thread so they can keep banging on about how crap BMW are and how hard done to they feel............give it a rest.
speaking of which wheres tentoone????

if it was your money would you not moan ?

But people like you don't like to hear how BMW treat buyers, maybe in your next life you will come back as a horse, then at least you will have a reason for the blinkers.

Ride safe and enjoy what ever you ride

Wrong. Why not tell the whole story Bod :nenau
Sorry but you have lost me have I been out of order, I was talking about the "another duff bmw" thread

Not the removal of contact details of bmw staff or when I was in the wrong for trying to sell stuff

Of course - anyone would and I certainly would.

The point is not the moaning.

The point is that just because you read about a problem with a 1200/dealer/supplier you cannot extrapolate that every 1200/dealer/supplier is crap. So lets all keep things in perspective eh?

Well you've lost me also :D

Your comments seemed to be directed towards my moving yet another 1200 rant to the Forum Rant section. That's what i was replying to.

But that is part of my point Kent does not have a dealer, if Prestige was still up and running I would still be riding a BMW. It was the best dealer I have ever used full stop but (sorry to say it again) I have no dealer that will back me up. the two over dealers that have used have been crap and I will not say sorry for saying that. This forum is to tell others what I think.

I ride 20'000 miles a year, what ever I ride needs support, BMW have removed that from all of us that live in Kent.

Sorry to say it all again but just answering a question

Bod, I'm from Yorksha so my normal reaction would be to tell you to f*ck off, note that I didn't do that. The reason being is I have read your posts and clearly you have had a bad time and I truly feel for you. However, it doesn't help you or us for you to continue on about it. We are going to go on buying BMs irrespective of the disasters that some people have, we just hope it doesn't happen to us. Right now I am excited about the new Adv I should have later this month and it is a pain in the ass to see the constant knocking of the 12 in general and now the Adv in particular. Personally I couldn't care a flying f*ck what anyone else chooses to buy, that is their choice, absolutely nothing to do with me.
For the life in me I can't understand why anyone would buy a Harley but a couple of years ago I was in Barcelona when they had their big gathering there and there were thousands of them! Nice guys, loving their bikes and having a great time, who am I to say they are wrong?
The important thing is that they enjoy their bikes, end of story!
So my friend, please desist, come and have a glass of wine with me and we can slag Tony Blair or someone off! :beerjug: :beerjug:

Just out of intrest why did you remove Conrad Parkers contact details, fellow UKGSERs had no other help ? The ADV panniers and top box supply was a joke.

Because you published his personal mobile phone number.

...traded in my 1150 yesterday...rode home on my new 1200 a distance of some 25 miles...went to start it an hour later and got a loud bang...the bike eventually started but was running badly. I returned the bike to the dealer this morning and have been loaned their demo bike...25 miles :( wish I hadn't bothered...

I had a similar problem with my 650 cs a few years ago.
If you mess with the throttle when you start the bike (as it's all tied to the engine management system) the `brain`thinks that the throttle idle position is at the point at which the engine started (eg: half throttle). It's smart enough not to scream the engine, but it runs like a dog, backfires and stalls on idle.
To rectify the problem, you needed to turn the ignition off completely and then start it properly. If you leave the ignition on and try and re-start, it never will.

Just press the starter and don't toouch anything else until it's started.

Just a thought...

Im here Im here. 25 miles....What a useless excuse for a motorcycle. Roll on the new Honda big trailie for 2008.

Came on here today to post an update to my "Duff Beemer" thread which has disappeared! Dunno why- everything I put in it was factual - and to have 2 dead bikes less than a year old (one a week old) deserves a bit of a moan!!

Just wanted to share what the issue was so that others may learn a little and avoid the same issue.

Anyhow - it turns out it was the GPS cradle - I'll post more info on the GPS board.

Ah - didn't know there was such a thing. I'll bookmark it immediately! Might be useful.

Dear Bod,

After the exhortation to read your posts I have done just that, all 97 of them (phew!) and I cannot find one direct post that says why you are so disenchanted.

What I have worked out is this: You need a bike for all year. You do 20,000 miles a year. You had an R1200RT. You ordered an R1200GSA last August. Some people who ordered after you got their bikes before you. You were not happy. :tears The bike arrived sans panniers and topbox. You were not happy. :tears The dealership near you closed down or lost the BMW franchise. You were not happy. :tears The next nearest dealership is 50 miles in the wrong direction. You were not happy. :tears Someone got their panniers before they got the bike. You were not happy. :tears You sold the bike to a dealer. On the whole you are not happy. :tears

Reading between the lines (because it's not stated clearly in any of your posts), you sold the Adv. because you didn't get your panniers with the bike (and I think you may have cancelled a holiday? Again not clear.) and there is no dealer in Kent?

If there is a clear explanation in the 97 posts that I've read, I apologise. Maybe you could provide a link.
