After the exhortation to read your posts I have done just that, all 97 of them (phew!) and I cannot find one direct post that says why you are so disenchanted.![]()
What I have worked out is this: You need a bike for all year. You do 20,000 miles a year. You had an R1200RT. You ordered an R1200GSA last August. Some people who ordered after you got their bikes before you. You were not happy. The bike arrived sans panniers and topbox. You were not happy.
The dealership near you closed down or lost the BMW franchise. You were not happy.
The next nearest dealership is 50 miles in the wrong direction. You were not happy.
Someone got their panniers before they got the bike. You were not happy.
You sold the bike to a dealer. On the whole you are not happy.

Reading between the lines (because it's not stated clearly in any of your posts), you sold the Adv. because you didn't get your panniers with the bike (and I think you may have cancelled a holiday?Again not clear.) and there is no dealer in Kent?
If there is a clear explanation in the 97 posts that I've read, I apologise. Maybe you could provide a link.

1. Yes I do 20'000 miles a year
2. Last bike was an RT
3. yes did order bike last year and orders placed after mine had been delivered before mine
4. BMW and dealer could not give a deliver time for panniers until I moan and then got an offer in 7 days
5. yes dealer closed no dealer in Kent, with past history with RT you need one to repair the faults. This site high lights many of them.
6 Yes sold the bike to a dealer at a loss of £900
7 yes cancelled a holiday due to not having the panniers at the time e-mail and calls to BMW all ignored.
you missed out broke down at 750 miles and took two weeks to repair. As I have said in one my of my posts I would still be rideing a BMW if I had the back up. feed up with BMW yes.
as some people have said time to move I have, but pls not I'm not just moaning I have sold the bike because my feelings of BMW are so stong that they just have no idea how to treat people. So I have voted with my feet and not just moan about the bike/dealer/bmw i'm the only one out of pocket.
Hope you all enjoy your Bikes and that you have a great time with them and that owning them gives you as much pleasure as I wanted to have with my ADV

And why did you buy another one, after the RT? Must have something going for em then?
I've always had v.good service overall from my local dealer Motorrad Central (30 odd miles away in the wrong direction, but nothing if you travel 20,000 miles pa), far better than I've ever had with Honda dealers.
