i use chipguard and have the kit cut in XPEL not 3m much better than ventureshield, self healing and 10 yr warranty against yellowing etc, he's a really nice guy
I'm using the new 3m scotchguard pro now and use distilled water solution, ill have to get a sheet of xpel and see the difference.
Xpel is much flater and has more gloss than 3m..just Google Chipguard and give him a bell..Paint protection has moved on a bit, he was raving about another manufacurer, i cant recall the name
Can you get small rolls of it, non bike specific?

I see you are based in Surrey. I'm in North Hampshire and have used Paintguard from the waterloovile area on my last three bikes and current car.
They don't use 3m film now but a better product. Steve can do part kits or full kits for most makes and models of bikes and cars. They do too end vehicles too. My Gs was done at Bahnstormer the dealers at Farringdon before I collected it. Personally I cannot recommend the protection film enough.
Hope that helps

If you ever need/want to take it off I have known it pull the paint lacquer of the top of the transfers it has been placed over.

Rubbish if you buy the 3m ventureshield it can be removed and reused if you know what your doing.
I have used it on many sports bikes and it has always worked well, its not difficult to fit as you do it wet but I haven't bothered putting any on the GS
All I can say is when I tried to remove it from one bike I had it came off the painted areas no problem. but one area had a transfer under the lacquer and it pulled the lacquer off. Perhaps it was a issue with that particular area of lacquer not keying onto the transfer correctly I don't know but it happened.
I have used and removed it in the past but I'd now think twice about placing it over transferred areas.
