Me and a mate fancy a nice quiet pootle around the santander and sth area. I have done some bits of this area a bit on my way further sth but I would love to do the route of the 500 curves and stay around that area or within 150 mile for about a week or 10 days
Does anyone have a GPX of routes they have done in that area Please
Does anyone have GPX route of this they can DM or post on here please
Thanks for any info

The 5000 curves route is a combination of roads, created from two separate events: The Cantabria Tour and the Piston Rally. The route changes each year.

I’d suggest building your own. Here’s a start, using the Piston Rally route from 2019:

Then Google away, using assorted search phrases and include looking at pictures.

Alternatively, there are heaps of GPX routes around the area here on UKGSer and / or available on the web, for example on the RiDE magazine website.

Thank You.
I am all ready doing my own detecting on the net and on Michelin maps green routes. Just trying to use other folks help and knowledge. Sometimes having a route that others have done and recommend is easier.
I know somefolks on here will have done the rallies ,I just wondered if they recorded them as a track etc.

Here is some. Hopefully it will help get you going (and)

Look for Vega de Pas on the map, south of Santander. It is surrounded by good passes. I have done several over the years on my way from or to Santander. None are very long but you can join up several into a day touring. Puerto de La Braguía is a favourite.

I'm in the planning stage for my trip in May/June. I will probably be spending the first few days in the Cantabrian mountains and I will put the routes in my Figure of 8 thread once I have them worked out.

Can also reccomend vega de pas its on our route to the regular hotel we use for the picos
