600 mile service costs

I would think a dealer has to charge for oil, and some labor, but it really shouldn't be much. Basically just a fluid change and sync the TB's I think. Plus log it into their computer to check for updates and reset the maintenance light. Prior to camheads, the 600 mile service also consisted of re-torquing the heads and setting the valves but that's not called for any longer.

As far as I know Castrol sponsors BMW and gets the oil for free!
So to charge £211 for nothing is still a complit rip off !

IIRC the oil on my last service was itemised at £60 + VAT
As per the link above you can get the expensive synthetic Castrol stuff on the web for less than £40 for 4 litres - and take it along with you for the service.

Is part off the research and improvent on engine development etc. they passing the charge to the costumer when you buy the oil bottled and this is how they make profit !

Nothing to do with BMW and the tie up with Castrol
My BMW dealer doesn't use Castrol in their workshops, they use another brand..............so where's you theory with regard to that
