I need to book my GS in for its first 600 mile free service. I am unable to take it back to the dealer I bought it from.

Can anyone suggest a decent London dealer to use.

Servicing in London

Give South London Motorcycles (BMW main dealer) a shout, they're down Caterham way (i think). My bro-in-law got his 24k done recently on his 1150 and had no gripes bar main dealer hourly rates!!!!

At the risk of being shot - may I suggest Sawbridgeworth in Hertford (40 mins. from Finchley)

So far I've had nothing but exclellent service from them and they'll give you a free loaner whilst yours is serviced. Prices so far have not been in the extremes that many others have suggested!!

There aren't any other dealers on the "North" side of London that I'm aware of.

Took mine to Park West today

Firstly, if you read the feedback on here you will realise that it is not the popular but I had a very good experience with them today.

Park West dealt with me very well today (loan bike organised, I forgot my license!!) so I sat in the showroom / service area for 3 hours:o

Not a bad crowd, very friendly and the guy doing my bike seemed very switched on. William and Peter are nice guys and I got to look around all the bikes being prepped. (About 70 in total) to look at parts that I like didn't like.

The impression I got is that they are SO SO busy (and I can say the phone did not stop ringing all morning that you feel that they are over whelmed.

You will need a GPS to find them or very good instructions as I only found them with the help of a F650 rider I sat next to at the lights on the A4.

Worth considering, from my personal experience.

Just a question, why can't you take the bike to the previous dealer? Is it in Germany or Aberdeen or something? It will cost you £130 + otherwise?

South London Motors are OK

I bought my 1100GS from them last year and they have looked after me since - they guys are friendly and there is normally a good crowd down there drinking the coffee. If Paul from Streatham, who was there with his SO a few weeks back, who showed me what a Y bit was reads this then send me a PM and we'll get together for that drink!

Forget the B&W Stealer Network and get started with someone who will give a shite in the future. Pat Keenan of Mobitec fame will come to your workplace home or place of worship and service your GS with speed and efficiency. He's a BMW trained tech and will be able to stamp your book and keep your warranty up to speed even if BMW GB won't...
I've been using his expert help for the last 80,000 miles and that is praise in itself as I'm a complaining boll0x.
He laso rides a GS and does offroading and races an R1, certifiable nutter, but top man.
Pat Creagh.

South London M/C

I took my bike there last week for a 12k service and some recall work.

They washed it for me and all seemed fine.

I did tell them that the ABS wasn't working properly and asked them to check the battery. When I picked it up, the ABS still wasn't working but started to work half way home????. Maybe they were confident that would happen.

Service costs.

I agree with what Pat Creagh suggests, ask around and find someone authorised for service work, but not charging hourly rates to cover Glossy shop fronts. .Believe me they are out there.
Its not the cost of the service thats exspensive, its the Tat....
you end up paying for.
