Yesterday afternoon I filled up the bike in St.Ives, set both mpg trips to zero and set off on the 20.3 mile ride to my girlfriends house.

I kept to the speed limits and avoided harsh acceleration. By the time I arrived at her house the mpg computer had settled to 75mpg - if I hadn't got stopped at every set of traffic lights in St.Neots it would have read 79mpg!

WOW!!!!

he has a girlfriend :D

Fill it & use a calculator - vehicle mpg computers are notoriously inaccurate. Spookily enough, they tend to make the vehicle appear more economical - it's almost as if it was intentional...

Mike

Get yourself a push bike, then you wouldn't have to stop at the traffic lights:D

Or better still get a girl friend who lives closer:D

Just a tip, girlfriends love tales of 120 mph filtering on your back wheel with your cylinder pots smashing door mirrors as you go........75mpg and stopping at all the lights.....Really?

MPG ... not something I have ever worked out on any bike I have ever owned.

Me neither - my bike is my toy and I don't commute on it. Same with tyres really .... Yes EXP's were just a bit too quick to square off, but apart from those tyres, I don't really concern myself with wear rate ... :thumb2

In Dynamic Mode, averaged 64 mpg on a trip from Southampton to Dorchester (CW's as it 'appens) to get some minor work done.... roads were busy so poodling along at between 40 - 65 mpg.

Overall, though, the key point is that the LC is "economical" if ridden carefully.

Could do with a 7th gear though.....

I have already checked the accuracy.

I was bored - don't really give a stuff about fuel consumption or tyres, I ride almost every day just because I love riding a bike.
