Own a 1150GS since new (2002) and will be keeping it.

Looking at a 990 Super Duke - probably 2012 onwards.

Do you recommend these - anything to look out for?

Cheers

Stonking bikes !!! Just get one !!!

Loved mine, one of the early ones.Full Akra and set up by PDQ.Went like stink.

Was faultless, like most KTMs.Ignore the bollocks spouted on here by those that have never owned one but think they know everything !!!

I've owned something like 15 KTMs since 2003 and the only faults I've ever had were a clutch cable snap on a Duke (2003) and head gasket go on a 950 Adventure (2004) but it was 42 degs and it got a tad hot.It still got me 600 miles home.

Since then ,faultless. And that includes 3 EXCs, another Duke,Super Duke,640LMC,RC8,,2 950 Super Enduros etc etc

Mate has one but the 2010 if it makes a difference ( he is just about to swap for the 1290 r )
The only problem he has had was something to do with the oil seals and water pump allegedly a common issue but other than that he has loved it and done about 45k on it all over Europe

Had a 2007 Superduke R.

Fuelling was atrocious, even after a re-map and Akro's fitted. Worst bike to ride I ever had............. Apparently the normal Superduke is more street friendly.

Reliability was fine though.

Thanks all for the very useful info.

I will be getting one - but I think the standard one, rather than the R, will be more suitable.

Keeping my eyes peeled for one now!

Cheers
