Hi all
My name's Adam and I have a '54 1150Adv. This site was suggested by a 1200Adv owning friend today after I experienced a little...ahem..."problem" this morning. I've been monitoring a clanking noise from the gearbox for a week or so. The same 1200 owning friend said the symptoms were common for 1150's and to keep an eye on it. Which I did.
This morning just after pulling away from my house the rear wheel locked in 3rd. I stopped and put it in neutral easily enough but now the clutch seems to not engage/disengage the gearbox. I have all gears (if the digi display is to be trusted) and it won't move when in gear.
I have read lots about Thrust Bearings, Gearbox Splines, etc today and I'm not expecting anybody to jump in an tell me exactly what the problem is, but, does the fact that the wheel locked help eliminate any issues and or highlight something specific. FYI the original noise was present on tick over and disappeared when the clutch was pulled in.
I hate that this is my first post, I would have introduced myself had I known about you guys! If anybody can offer an opinion I'd really appreciate it.
