A crappy introduction - sorry.

Having never done that level of work on the GS it was emotional! Even more so when I realised the swing arm bolt thread was stripped on the new 'box (once I had rebuilt the whole bike!) Everyday's a school day!:rob

and the fact that I now need a link bar for the gear change lever to gear box, buggered if I know where mine went!

new clutch. What else

When my 11 gearbox had it's M94 bearing probs and was fixed y Steve Scriminger he said that the trouble with this problem is that if the bearings went really bad it would lock the box and so the rear wheel. Obviously the clutch would not unlock this.

The input spline wear probs seemed to be 1150 specific but I guess that a gearbox out and inspection is the only answer.

Good luck...

I#m replacing the clutch this weekend. Is it worth replacing anything else (just for peace of mind) while the gearbox is off? It's a 1150adventure with 60000km on the clock.:beerjug:

I'm very far from an expert on these bikes - nod to all the very clued up guys on here - but I had to swap the fly wheel as mine had a broken tooth. Not necessary unless its broken though. The reason mine went south was the bearings were shot. IMHO it's best to leave unless something's causing concern?

I took the chance to give it a real good clean and dig out
