A misbehaving MRA 1.2 route interesting XT

Yesterday I was following a route imported into my XT as a MRA 1.2 saved file. All was going well until stopped for a coffee just off the planned route. When I started the bike the route popped, I didn't notice whether it recalculated, though I have this set to prompted, the route was about an hour less than expected. I quickly realised that something was wrong, it had chosen to follow main A roads and a motorway. I went back to the saved file, selected it and I was back on track.

No great problem, but knew where I was going on a familiar route, if this was on a trip I'd not have known.

Is this usual? After a stop is it necessary to reselect the saved file? I had assumed it would carry on where it left off.

Yep had this happen to me several times, it's bloody annoying,stop route go back into apps etc and it then works as downloaded.

I would assume the satnav re-calculated the route as you went off it, and then adjusted it according to its own parameters.

The way you can get around this is to have many waypoints on each road, so the sat nav can't (shouldn't) deviate from your defined route.

I've completely switched off re-routing on my XT as this was happening to me on occasion too.

Trust me I have re calc off and lot's of waypoints,it's just does it now and then

i found it (the XT) can still change the route, even on prompted. That's what i've had in my experience - even on my recent trip.

Re-calculating me back to the route, changed the route itself.

I’m a new recruit to MRA and I use a Garmin XT. So far I’ve not had this happen but have only imported .gpx 1.1 routes. It would be interesting to get to the bottom of what is going on. My initial thought was turn off auto recalculation but that doesn’t seem to be the issue.

I've also had this, both on saved routes from Base Camp and MRA. I've turned off recalculate and not had problems since.
