A new year, new battery/tyres?

Guys, I've had my '05 GS laid up for a while due to me being out of the country but am looking to get up and running as soon as I'm back. I think the battery has died (as in permanently it wouldn't hold a charge before I left), has anyone got any good suggestions for replacements? Also I am getting near to a new pair of tyres, currently on Anakees. I know it has been debated to death on here but can someone in the know tell me if its worth trying Tourances for a change or sticking with what I know (the seemed the best option before I left)? Bike is currently residing near Basingstoke so if anyone knows any good suppliers (batterys and tyres) I would be grateful, Micheldever tyres are where I'm thinking at the moment in my limited knowledge.
