We start the dance, my insurance is due end of January.
HP, GS, DRZ. Garaged. NW London.

Thank god BMW Insurance is here for me.

I suspect (and hope) this is an error :D :D :D

I tried the “spending power” thing on my Amex, sadly I am not allowed to charge a paltry 100 grand on my card apparently. :D

I hope you don't have a big excess on that policy :D

GS doesn’t have any.
Other two bikes 300 :D

(Given that it says last year’s comparable price was “0” I am 99.999% sure this might be an error and not a “fuck you” quote).

Spoke with the broker (Devitts/BMW) and they say they cannot provide me a quote.
No changes since last year.

Guy on the phone said there is a last chance to try and pass through the insurance (will try this afternoon) with a "special procedure" and see if they can provide a policy, but it will be significantly more expensive than 2025 (still, not 99,999).

I have to start quoting around. Fun week ahead :D

Oh no - scrap that.
The guy did god's work. ~100 quid over last year price (acceptable).

Have to confirm postcode as I moved lock-ups (10 meters) and this might throw a spanner in the works... I do not want to displease the algorithmic gods :D

Devitt do not run the BMW Motorrad scheme now. It was taken over as an offshoot of the same parent as Carole Nash

Were you talking to Devitt or the new outfit?

I wrote Devitts' out of memory. My bad.

I called the number on the quote. So the new outfit.
Atlanta insurance.
I think it's the same as last year. The email and system graphics looks the same as Swinton or something I was using previously as well (probably all part of the CN group).

If they are not annoyed by the postcode change (guy was very specific that he could manage to get a quote only if nothing changed) seems all ok.

The change since since last year is your your age.

No.
He meant in the bike details and location. He was able to re-push the quote only if nothing of those parameters changed.

Quote, as it stands, is ok. He made it sound like it would have been a lot more, but it's less than 100 quid, so more than happy with that.
I just have to check if their system doesn't throw a tantrum if we change the postcode, hopefully not.

Apart from that, my age will change from 45 to 46 later in 2026, and it's not a bracket that would trigger massive changes or driving license re-testing. So that would all be within acceptable parameters (as the NCB increase is too).

OK understand - When I tuned 68 it started to become a problem, BMW (Devitt or whoever they are these days) were not interested - had no problem with Hastings.

We shall see what happens this year as I am now 69 :)

Little update.

I called them back this morning to accept the quote and explain that the last letter of the postcode changed as I had to move lock-up unit by a full 8/10 meters to the left, and this one is pertinent to a different building, so the postcode slightly changes. Same alley. Same brick lock up construction.

They are unable to quote given this massive change.

They are on the case. Hopefully they'll find a way... but haven't heard back yet. :D

Jesus fucking Christ every fucking year...

Have tried Bike Sure? They are part of Adrian Flux. For me it's always a pain at renewal to input all the data...
Good luck

We have liftoff.
After a couple of days of "massaging" by the guys on the other end of the line, the underwriter agreed to renew the policy with the tiny postcode change.
About same price, so: success.
