Camehome from work today on my 1150GS. Suddently ABS lights started flashing at me (alternately, not both together). Stopped, switched engine off and on again, but kept on doing it. At home, tried again, same result. Any thoughts? On the way home something hard hit my l/h foot, without anything apparently hitting the bike (so maybe a stone, but why didn't it hit the bike first and then me?). Checked around the caliper, but now obvious sign of damage.

Any thoughts (as said before)???

Is your bike a servo model?

If so then check that the brakelight bulb hasn't blown. Failing that make sure there is no crud in either the front or rear brake levers stopping them returning to their fully closed positions.

Also...

... as happened to me recently - check your fluid levels. On my 1100gs it doesn't like low levels ( like when the pads are still useable but past halfway worn) so keep 'em topped up.

Was getting the lights flashing alot and also the "pump" effect when braking hard.

Try resetting the ABS - 30 second job, only tools required are a piece of electrical wire

What, you show the bike the wire and it's cured?

No, you threaten to tape electrical wire to the bikes gonads, and put some current along it, if it doesn't fix it's self quick . :D
