ABS Modulator Failure

Hi
My R1200GS 2004 has just suffered an ABS Modulator Failure. I got a cost for parts and labour of €1800. I really don't have this kind of money to throw at this problem. I am hoping that someone here might have come across this problem before and might have some advice as to how I can sort this problem out.
Any help would be much appreciated as I am stuck with a GS with no brakes and won't be going anywhere in a hurry.

Kev, I think there is a few threads about the ABS units being rebuilt/reconditioned, use the search facility.
