I have a spare set of wheels I used for off road riding. When I fit these I take the ABS sensor rings from my road wheels and fit them to the off road wheels. Do I really need to do this? When off road I always turn off the ABS anyway. If I don't fit the sensor rings will that just disable the ABS in the same way?

2001 GS non servo.

Woohoo! I get to be on the bleeding edge.

The edge of what I dare not speculate.

Rob,
When you swap the rings between your wheels, do you mark the position of the ring on each wheel and place them back in the same place? I've removed the ring before without marking its position and had to re-adjust the ABS gap to get it to work again properly.

Nope.

I've done this a few times before and never had a problem.

I'm just fed up of doing it because the bold heads are made of cheese and I always strip at least one of them.
