Accelerator Module

Booster Plug ride report 2

Ok
I have just finished a ride of 280 Klms two up. About 60% on highway the remaining through traffic.
I am still impressed with the booster plug. The on-off action of the throttle from idle is a lot smoother and less jerky. Acceleration has improved and the bike, at 110K hr, feels like it wants to get up and go. The feeling of having to push the bike has gone. Fuel consumption is about the same, certainly not less, again time will tell. Idle is up a little. Running the bike in a higher gear than you normally would is excellent and not jerky or bunny hopping.
Air temp 23.5 to 35 Degrees Celsius.

A good investment if I do say so!

My 04 GS has it's 24K service booked, it has no CAT (straight through headers)
Any thoughts please on leaving or removing the accelerator for "tuning" purposes?

As Mick but my 04 Gs is bog standard. Do you remove the accelerator module for servicing needs?:nenau

One for Clive Magonon & Roadrubber

That will be the external NTC resister to be precise:augie

I've got mine cable tied to the rear frame below the seat near the battery on the r/h side in the free air flow. :thumb

Accelerator module fitted today to see if it makes any difference to on/off low speed throttle response ( not that it's that bad to start with it just could be better)

I've reset the MPG indicator as well on the dash to see what it does to my normal 46mpg figure

Will post an update after a test ride or two

Well.... I've done a shade under a 1K miles over the past few days, a few tanks of fuel using the Accelerator Module. A complete mix of Pennies, Yorkshire Moors, motorways, filtering around town etc, so I've covered most bases.

The fuel usage is still 200miles to a tank as long as you keep it under 80. For some reason my fuel guessing computer is now getting much closer to the mark.

The biggest change is not noticing the engine anymore, the bike just runs, cleanly and far far more smoothly.

I'm very impressed and I like the easy fit/removal.

We'll see what happens when temperatures rise/fall over time.

Judging by all the feedback so far. The Acc.Mod, is achieving the same results and benefits as the more expensive alternatives.

Still loving mine:thumb

hi there ive read the threads here regarding these products, so sorry if this is a stupid question,Ihave 09 gsa would the cat have to be removed, also would the bike warranty be affected with any of the products mentioned. cheers

I think it all depends on your individual dealer and the nature of the warranty claim.:)

My dealer doesn’t have a problem with the module fitted, but others might.
And if your (god forbid:mmmm) drive shaft breaks. BMW won’t be blaming the module for it. If however, you take your bike in for fuelling problems, they might take issue (you disconnect the mod first anyway, wouldn’t you:augie).

hope this helps:thumb2

I'm impressed with the performance so far... alot smoother :thumb

one question tho, does it affect the tickover, what should it be once warmed up?

I haven’t noticed any change in tickover revs, regardless of engine temp. I think mine ticks over at around 1.3krpm.....ish.:mmmm

thanks yonko, what abt the cat should be removed 1st? cheers

Ah, i forgot about the cat question.

The acceletator device is compatable with all exhaust systems regardless of cat/no cat. But you need to specify Cat or no Cat when ordering from Mavn's web site. So if you are going have de-cat headers, then buy the relevent Acc. device.

Brought the GSA out of winter hibernation today, having fitted the Acc Mod.

Well impressed for such a cheap addition. The thing is so smooth now. Had it in 6th gear, slowed until I got about 1200rpm on the tacho, then opened the throttle wide and it just accelerated smoothly. You can definately be in at least one gear higher than normal. Great mod.

SOTP Dyno shows no change to top end power.

Nice one :thumb2

So, is this the same thing??
No, going by the price of it and the Ebay wording I’d say it just a resistor that fits in to the end of the IAT sensor cable – It's a lot cheaper than an FRK module thou :augie

Ad wording…
(INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE) SENSOR, UN-PLUG THE CABLE THAT’S ATTACHED TO THE SENSOR, THEN SIMPLY PLUG THE CHIP INTO THE CABLE. IT ONLY TAKES FIVE MINUTES
