I am going to fit one of those accelerator things to mt GS, the seem to get a very good write up for the cost, is there any significant difference between the extended version and the compact? I am not expecting the bike to suddenly become a blade scoffer but I would like to eliminate the low speed lumpyness of the motor and most of the reviewers said it did just that. I just don't know which version is better. Anybody any experience with these gadgets??

I got the chap one and it worked a treat, did a couple of hundred mile round trip and used it for half the trip, found no difference to MPG or anything negative.
On the plus side it ran far smoother down low, popped and banged a lot less and lost the nasty habbit of surging when trying to hold a slow speed (i.e. through 30 limits)
I have since had it over a year and ridden in all weathers and it worked fine wet or dry from below freezing up until the other side of 35c.
Any performance increase is neglible IMO (Maybe a few percent gain in the low-mid range) but it definately rides nicer

I have one in my bike, when I first put it in, I wasn't sure if it made much difference, until I took it out when I went to get it serviced. A tiny squirt of gas in a traffic queue and nearly shot me into the back of the car in front, suddenly reminding me of why I put it in in the first place. It's back in now and there to stay.
