Have I done a silly thing? Before the winter I applied ACF50 all over the bike and took the silencer off to check the exhaust flap, clean it and then applied ACF50 liberally to the spindle thinking that would keep it lubricated. Have used the bike a bit since and notice that ACF50 gets a bit hard and sticky on the outside of the exhaust now that its been hot. The flap still ok but should I clean it out again before use . Anyone done this before?
I cant be the only one. Also whats the best way to clean ACF off again in the spring?

Acf is a lubricant of sorts, so your worrying over nothing mate.

Not sure why you want to remove it in the first place :nenau Let it do its job, leave it on.:comfort

I asked the question because I dont want the flap to seize when I start using the bike again which I hope will be soon. I will clean the ACF off in the spring

GT 85 & sdoc

my bike is a 2010 and the flap use to stick now & then, so i've always used GT85 on it, never stuck since.
Have now removed Flap & cable after buying Elimator Tube from this Site.
i've used ACF50 on my bike fo the last 3 Years, always cleaned it off with SDOC 100 after they stop
salting the roads(April time) then apply end September/October which leaves a nice shiny bike.
