Adaptive Cruise Control worth it?

you can adjust the distance to keep between you and the vehicle infront. It doesn't do it aggresively and adjusts the distance according to speed. you have 3 settings, they appear as litlle bars on the TFT, basically they are close, medium, and comfort distance. It works well. Just have to watch it at roundabouts if you are following a car and they nip out as another car is coming onto the roundabout from the right yours may try to still follow the car and pull out infront of the car coming onto the roundabout. I always switch it off before roundabouts in both car and on bike, just touch the brake to switch it off.
It's a case of "horses for courses", use it where it suits and don't if you don't want to.
As far as should you get it on the bike when you order that's just depends if you want to spend the extra money. If you don't order it with the bike you can't add it afterwards. Up to the rider if they choose to use it if it's fitted.

Sensitivity (Comfort or Dynamic) is adjustable as is the distance between you and the vehicle in front

Actually, it is a German system (Bosch) on the V4S I think and it works like a dream.

Given the relative quality of the two brands I wouldn’t mind a bet that the Ducati version is significantly better than BMW’s. I admit that’s just prejudice though.

Doesn’t stop it being totally unnecessary though…
 
Not for me.
I rarely ever use cruise control, even on motorways.

I would prefer to keep my wits about me, and concentrate on what im doing…. I believe cruise control takes your mind off what you are doing, so makes you less aware of what is happening around you.

Other opinions are of course available.


Each to their own, buy it if you want it, save your money if you decide you don’t want it

You can increase and decrease the distance in which it activates. You can also not activate it.
 
I use cruise A Lot. Probably most used switch.

I prefer standard cruise ( on my car and bike) rather than active cruise (on my wife’s car).

Active just fucks about so much you’re always having to second guess it.
