hey, i adjusted my bars forward a bit today to make the bike more comfy, but this means the switch gear is too far down. which screws do i need to undo to loosen off the switch gear so i can move them back a bit??? Confused.com
It is quite easy to do, providing you take your time and you dont drop any of the screws!
Going by memory, as its been a while since I did one, undo the three screws that hold the plastic panel onto the switch gear. NOTE, all three screws are a different size and also have a different head pattern so it is pretty unlikely that you can get them mixed up. Unless your name is Mutley1150 of course.
And now for the hidden screw!
Remove the mirror arm, this is done by undoing the Allen "hollow" nut underneath the stem of the mirror.
Once the mirror stem is removed, behind the stem is a small countersink screw. Remove this one and the panel will pull away, but it may need a little effort.
Care should be taken with this little screw as it is made of cheese, make sure that you have the right sized blade screwdriver and that you apply a good firm purchase when undoing it, if the head "rounds" off, your f*cked!
Once removed you will know see another Allen screw, simply undo and rotate assembly to suit.
Be very careful when refitting the panel cover as it is very easy to pinch the wires.
Talk about over engineering, all that just for a plastic cover for feck sake!!!!
