ok,as my 08 adv came without fog lamps i deceided to fit some of the nice bmw ones,my reason was to keep it standard looking and tidy on the wiring front.so off to stealer to collect my lamp bar which went on oh so easy,my two lamps which again easy peasy.
so the next box is the wiring kit, loom relay and switch assembly, and no destuctions as to the routing of the loom to meet up with original loom, plus where does the supplied relay fit?(les if your reading this feel free to take the pish) so has anyone a set of destructions or a how to for the bmw kit or am i back to stealers crawling over their bikes?:nenau

Not sure about the '08 model, but on the '07 the relay is located behind the right-hand tank cover.

k kop, thanks but relay supplied is much smaller than that with diff terminals

cookie i suspect your right,i just wished they were upfront when i bought the kit, every other acc ive bought from bm has a booklet with it,not on this occasion,i will contact dealers today and see what they come up with:thumb2

Its not that bad fitting the kit. Its actually quite good as all the wiring is made to fit and doesn't require any trip to the dealer at all.

I recently fitted a BMW Fog Lamp kit to a GS (2008/09 spec [1]); some info on the relay location:

For help with the wiring to the lamps, run the wire round the front frame by the oil cooler. If you're still struggling pop into a dealer and have a good look at a GSA (I did!) at the wiring runs.

[1] the GS and GSA share the same frame from what I can tell.

thanks original concept,so does main loom run down right hand side, off side of bike, and fuse block hides behind offside black cover with roundel on it

I did the same on my 06 GSA - I asked the garage (Netherlands at the time) to print of the workshop instructions for it which they humbly obliged.

It took me half a day to sort as the tank had to come off:blast

but works with no issues :beerjug:

thanks for that vines say will work straight away, did not offer up workshop print out though, any way off with the tank etc on sat,btw vines say my kit was there first ever over the counter sale:nenau

fogs

well took tank of this eve,
i cant find the relay connector cant find the power connection, must say fed up looking now,any sensible suggestions

update

well after an almost nights sleep, courtesy of a 1yr and 5yr,came down this morn an stared at it,saw something behind ecu s,took of said items and low behold is the spare relay connector:augie

so now all that is left to solve is the one plug over, which i thunk is the power plug,

back to the garage then:D

update 2

feck me what a diff a day makes, just looked at bikes wiring again, the power plug on the bike has such a good blank fitted looked like wrong one,but prised it apart jobs a goodun:thumb2

just got to piece it all bact together now and see if it works without can bus being activated by dealer

update 3
