Adventure Panniers - How do you keep yours looking clean ?

Aluminium panniers could do with a bit of TLC as looking smeared and marked even after a bucket of water and leather.

What do you use to keep them looking clean?.

What polish used ?.

Consider it part of their character, a layer of oxidization protects aluminium so the last thing you want to do is use any abrasive cleaner to remove it.

My personal preference would be a water based polish like Pledge for a tidy up

Mud, dust and a few dents, makes them look much better.

If you really wanted to polish them and you've got a couple of hours spare, I found that the best polish is Belgom Alu.

When new, remove from bike, put in a warm damp free cupboard, cover with nice scratch free cloth and leave there until you want to sell `em

Yo`ll never ever keep the as new in the real world so I would i`d wash the regularly and don`t worry about it.

IMHO, they are there to keep my bits and pieces dry and protected and not look like shiny bling.
