Ok guys been trying to find the answer to this, just got a zumo 550 from a great guy from this parish, want to fit it to my 990adv iv got the relevent hardware to mount it,but the hardwiring it to the bike is vexing this numpty,my battery is under the sump guard there are acc wires behind the headlight but im trying to find out if these wires are just live from the battery or are they switched?and is it ok to leave the zumo carrier permanently live or is the best solution to have it come on with the ignition? The 990adv does have some battery issues so im wondering having it permently live may cause me one or two probs?i appreciate your thoughts iv posted on the katoom section and im hoping you satnav gods may be able to navigate me through this.....tia..........:Motomartin

Make the effort and fit a Centech in a convenient position. You only have to do it once.

Power it via a relay triggered from a switched source and then power everything else from that. Then when the ignition is off all the fitted accessories are also off

I have both my 550 and my Autocom plus a couple of other things powered from the Centech and (whether I am just lucky, I don't know) have not had any ground loop problems requiring special cables. All items connected to the Centech end up sharing a common earth.
