Africa Twin Adventure Sport

Had another short ride on the ATAS today - I would definitely need to change the screen and I still find the dashboard somewhat difficult to read, but my biggest hang-up is the 21" front wheel, which I don't find very confidence inspiring for fast(ish) road use, which is where virtually all of my riding will be done.
Is this just a case of getting used to it, or is it always going to feel twitchy and less easy to turn in compared to a 19" set-up?

You get used to it .
I’ve had an adventure bike with 21/18 wheels for over 15 years .
I’m currently caning the 1290R around the Picos twisties.

The ATAS is just as capable, if not more !!!

As above. You just get used to it. It isn’t too much different to a 17/19. A decent length test ride should show you that. :beerjug:

Just buy the bloody thing !!

The ATAS is brilliant . But get the DCT !

Stick on an Akra and listen to it pop and fart as it auto blips on the down change. Just brilliant.

Must be good as I’m replacing my 1290 with it, having just done this .....

They usually refuse paying so than you use the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act to get information from the authority responsible for maintaining the road the pothole was on. This Act enables you to request data from public sector bodies and they have to give it to you by law. The FOI request will get two bits of information from the authority, inspection logs that show how it maintained the road that damaged your vehicle and Its policy for inspecting and repairing its roads, once you have that take em to the small claims at this stage they pay up, I think they string it out so punters just give in.

Best of luck mate

They now have a get out , if the pothole has been reported and not repaired within a suitable time frame they are still liable, however, the policy up here is if the pothole is reported and then assessed and marked out with paint to render it more visible it is classed that the pothole is under repair and has been made more visible to motorists so it is their own fault if they hit it.

They then leave it for weeks or months often remarking the same pothole a number of times , magic paint is cheaper than asphalt

I don’t think many people on here take much notice of your indeciveness :comfort :dabone

Butt out, chrome dome
Stroller was asking for advice .
I ran an AT for 7000 miles and now my 1290 for 8000 miles.

For me, the upgrades to the ATAS over the AT make it a better bike than the 1290. Personal taste and all that .

ATAS

Loving mine. Prefer the GSA Iconic for certain things, and the Varadero for...errr...well, nothing really, tho it remains a very nice ride. I have found this adjustable screen, whilst not the prettiest, sorts a lot of the aforementioned issues out.

Had my most terrifying time on mine today. Two up in zero visibility on Calums Road on Raasay, first gear manual pretty much all the way.....never again.
