I have that same mount on the 1190 .... :thumb2

This is what I'm getting....fits the top screen bar, is quick release and I'll run my GPS from the power point by shortening the lead and junking all the unnessary leads I don't need (Bluetooth comms). :thumb2

Where from ?

Isn't there a Honda branded integrated mount and Sat Nav for the AT?

Why would anyone be looking at an adventure bike if they're 100% road and 90% two up? Wouldn't something like a R1200RT or any of the Italian, Japanese, or even an American rides be more in line with your stated needs.

Somehow dropped the quote in first post. Blame it on operators error.

Why not? It's my preferred riding position and it works perfectly 2-up. Also the GS LC has enough power to be great fun. I have also had a Fazer 1000 and CB1300 amongst others. The bike I had the most fun on (again 2-up) was a Ducati Multistrada, but it was too expensive and I worried about deprecation and problems.

Engimoto as per the link in my post !!

I found your part here but it's the whole unit and not just the block.

Or if you want a realy cheap solution buy 2 of part no 7 from BMW and you can make a clamp for the cross bar - costs about a £5 from memory.

Works on the Scrambler ;)

Like on the Versys,it's pointless having these quick release mounts when it's hard-wired to the battery in any case !!

Yes, the one shown on the German SW Motech site is the same part no. as the 12/14 Versys. The q/d mount suits me as mine will not be hard wired to the batt. Oh, see how we pay in pounds what others pay in euros !

I've ordered the Engimoto jobby

How do you measure too expensive? MY local BMW dealer has a bevy of R1200GS bikes for sale. Starting price is $28 thousand, with taxes that's over $31000. For that price one could almost buy two Africa Twins. $16650 X 2 = $33,300 taxes in here in British Columbia.

AS for problems BMW has been building shaft drives since before WW II and still they have problems. Maybe they should source the drives from Honda Gold Wings, or any of the Yamaha shaft drives. As stated in an earlier post this whole Adventure bike thing is getting kind of crazy. Driven more by marketing than need. As one BMW salesman, in a moment of honest clarity, once said to me, "the only off road most of these GS bikes see is the last 100 metres to the tent site."
