Alaska Part deux.....the search for Milk Shakes

Well done

Excellent achievment to do what you have done. Well done to you and all of the guys.

It has been great following the adventure and it is something I would love to do one day.

I'm back in my own bed, trying to get some kip before work tomorrow. Downloaded 800 photos to my hard drive, so need to sort them out. Have a good few hours of GoPro footage, and a full notepad for if I get enough time to do a write up.
Awesome trip, would do it again in a heartbeat!
"where y'all from?"

So, that's the second trip done and only the bikes to load in Santa Rosa tomorrow. Most of the guys are on their way home and hopefully they have had a life changing experience in one way or another.:thumb

I've clocked 17,000 miles in 9 weeks and could probably do it all again after a few days off 2 wheels.

Thanks to everyone for making both these trips so enjoyable for me and I'm very proud I got 19 guys to the top of Alaska and back in one piece with no major drama's.

Cheers all:beerjug:
loved every word and pic of it one day i hope to do it for real:bounce1

Sure beats a day in the office !
How long did it take to do the Dalton Highway section ?

We do it in 3 days. 1st day is to Wiseman which is just about halfway, 2nd day up to Deadhorse and then the 3rd day we do it in one hit back to Fairbanks:thumb

How long did it take to do the Dalton Highway section ?

Trip one, Ken and myself, left Deadhorse at 09:30hrs, rolled into the bike shop in Fairbanks at 20:30hrs, I logged 520 miles and we had one fuel/food stop at Coldfoot (which must have been around an hour) and a few photo opportunities.

I completed both sections on a standard 1150GS tank, I didn't need the spare fuel I was carrying but my tank does have the filler neck mod and a syphon so that the fuel in the left lobe of the tank also gets used.

Deadhorse to Coldfoot is all dirt, ~257 miles; Coldfoot to Fairbanks is a mix of dirt and frost heaved tarmac ~263 miles. p.s. and some decent stretches as well.

Great to be home eh lads????:(

Well, I've been out with a buddy in SF for a few beers and some Mexican food. Bloody marvellous:beer:

Flying home tomorrow after nearly 3 months away will be a shock:eek: Treated myself to a little upgrade so shouldn't be too bad:thumb
