Algeciras ferry tickets

..... He doesn't speak a word of English though :blast
I dropped him an email a few hours ago..... translated it in Babblefish but still didn't get a reply :D

As we pass right by his door I'll probably call in anyway, would have been good to know if he's going to be open at 07:30 in the mornings though.

Unlikely.

Last time I was there, we had to go to the cafe on the corner and wait.....and there were a dozen Kraut campervans parked up waiting for tickets as well

If you're going to be there at 7.30 in the morning, doesn't that mean you'll be not that far off overnight?

Unless you're driving down THROUGH the night, stay at the San Bernadino motel, nip in to grab your tickets in the evening and get the first ferry next morning :thumb2

(7.30 am is before the first ferry anyway :nenau)

Or a thought......get Steve up at Al Heurin to get the tickets for you.....his Spanish is fine or he has thingummy (her name escapes me right now) who is Spanish with perfect English.....He met us in the San Bernadino once, or I'm sure you can arrange something with him.

We have made some progress with this one, the wonders of Babblefish :D

The office is open 09:00 to 21:00, the problem is we arrive around 22:00 and will be departing about 07:00.... that's the bad bit.

The good bit is, Carlos office is part of Hotel Restaurante Soriano and he says if we let him know which day we are arriving, he will leave them with the hotel reception the night before.

We have a price of €180 for each 4x4 but I'm trying to find out if that is return or just one way..... I'll keep you posted.

PS the first ferry is 05:30 :kissy2

Does he offer better priced tickets than the ferry operators?
Thinking of a day trip to Morroco in august.

Apparently so :thumb2

A day trip  that'll put Steptoe's Iron Butt 500 mile days to shame :D

500 miles, you poof :D. That's for the weekend warriors.

You mean a starter day of 700 miles from home to the france/spain border, followed by an 850 mile day to algerciras. :D

Yeah but..... that's still like a trip to the shops compared to Monsieur's Morocco and back in a day :augie

PS we did the Milau Bridge to Shropshire 882 mile in one hit in 2010.... but it was in the Land Cruiser so I guess that doesn't count :D

I'd imagine Monsieur will be in spain on holiday if he wants to do a day visit. :augie

We did the Milau in 2006 on the way back from morocco. Rode via barcelona and Tossa del mar. :D.

I presume you're going to Tanger, not Ceuta?

Although Cueta itself is fairly nice, it's still Spanish and there's nothing to attract attention just over the Moroccan border from there unless you have transport.....

For a day trip, you're going to be wasting your time unless you go to Tanger port itself :thumb
