Im looking for a set of alloy wheels for my GSA.

Does anyone know if wheels from other 1200 models will fit e.g. RT or R

Funny been looking to do the same, far as I am aware r1200r and r1200rt will fit straight on, using the correct rear wheel bolts.
Also r1200r classic spoked 17 " wheels should fit according to a dealer.
An interesting one is that perhaps an f800 front alloy of an identical pattern may also fit.
Problem with k series is the rear will be too wide and end up offset to the left

Just curious, why are you fitting cast wheels when everyone seems to love the spokes? BTW I'm with you on this one and would happily change, though keeping the spokes for when, or if, I trade it in.

Ive done this mod several times now i wonder if i can do it to my new LC version ! So K- series wheels the fronts don't fit the rears will but looks odd as alloy spokes run opo way, r12rt wheels will fit without any issues, r12r and r12s will fit but you have to file 2mm from the corner of the front calipers only slightly minior if you use the sports version wheel I've used r1200s sports rims the rear was 5.5" and its ideal the carbon wheels you see are for a r12s but they only do 6" rear but it looks good with a fat 190 .

If you want to swop let me know.....:augie

I have a 6 month-old (well used for 6 months) set of normal 1200gs mags designed to take the pressure sensors if you need them.

Cheers

Alex

I'm sorted out for alloy wheels thanks to Jim of this parish. :-)
I want to strip my spoked wheels to have the hubs powder coated before the slightly alloy corrosion I now have gets to the stage of jamming the spoke nipples. I might also have the rims done but need to check the spoke holes have enough clearance.

DingDong, what machine(s) do those wheels come from?

My '09 GSA currently runs a standard 19" front alloy, but a K1200S rear wheel and 180/55-17 tyre.
I'm also looking to move to a 17" front at some stage. :D

This is my GS wheel chemical stripped and ready for powder coating. The original paint is at least as hard as the metal so the coaters could not shot blast it clean. The circled areas are where corrosion had got under the paint. Thankfully not too bad. The GSA hubs paint causes the same problem.

I'll post pix when its back from coating.
