I've just fitted a new coil to my mono
, and figure that I should probably change the HT leads too as they're of a similar vintage.
I'm very inclined to use off-the-shelf HT lead at less than £2 per metre to make up a pair of new leads, rather than paying £20 plus VAT per lead for genuine parts.
Being a Yorkshireman I'm not naturally inclined towards the more expensive option...
I assume there's probably a very good reason why we should use the original parts rather than simply making up new leads.... please does anyone know of the pros and cons?
Many thanks,
Paul G
