Anakee 3 tyres

My GSA eats tyres .. Anakee 3

3000 miles ... 2 rears and 1 front ... and I’m in the market for new ones before my trip..

Maybe it’s the way I ride it

Just thinking that one of the reasons for the different mileage maybe when people consider the tire to be ready for replacement.
Personally, I imagine how happy I would be driving up a motorway in the rain, I would be very nervous at if i was down to wear indicators, I guess 1 mm.
I have no technical reason to think this, just gut feeling.

3 mm was mentioned, to stop punctures.

3000, just changed my rear, 6300mls. Putting new front on before holiday just because, as earlier post mentioned, I don’t want to be shopping for a tyre on holiday.

I got a nail in the rear the after 200 miles so tread depth makes no difference, unless the tyre is so bald that any little bit of flint will deflate it - but that would be long past being illegal anyway. It’s also the profile - if you do a lot of motorway miles you’ll find the centre is worn flat long before the sides and the severe squaring makes for an “interesting” ride.

Yep square tyres ride straight to the bin, hate that weird feeling, oops what happened then...........:rob

Front is well gone ... and maybe another 1000 miles left in rear ... but like fresh rubber for long trip

+1 on the A3,s and for those who say they make a little noise, its totally normal, its a rigid designed tyre, but works damn good I like them

Anarchy

Two up, with luggage, I can get 3500 miles to virtually bald on the rear. Enough, for me, for a foreign trip.
5500 miles on the front.

3500 miles is a damn good foreign trip, 1000km trips now over 3 days is more enjoyable, bugger them long slogs, been there done that, and got a big hat...........:beerjug:

Resurrecting this thread I was looking at the rear on my bike , it is down to 4.5mm after only 2200 miles and mileage will be over 2600miles before I go away on a 2500 plus European trip . Looks like it will need a new rear before I go away. been quoted £130 locally for fitting to a loose wheel.

Not risking a worn tyre as they do seem puncture prone, on the last GSA WC the first rear was written off with a irrepairable puncture at 600 miles and its replacement only lasted 1100 miles or so before a similar fate

Unfortunately only if you buy a pair, just going to put on a new rear and then change makes next year

Took wheels to local car garage who fitted them for a tenner. (Got lucky with fitting)
