Annoying bleeping on start up

Hi,
When I switch on my laptop I have to push the down arrow key several times or else a mad beeping noise is made. Then it displays a message saying that I should check for disk integrity and disk checking has been cancelled even though I haven't done anything.

Can anyone shed any light on what the problem is and suggest a possible cure?

+2 look up your code and get it fixed. If your getting disk errors as well then chances are its the SMART hard drive monitor trying to tell you that you disk is on its last legs. Might not be but the code will tell you.

tried just powering it on and let it do its thing. It will then tell you what the problem is. The disk check is being cancelled because you pressing keys like mad....
