Hoping other iPodders out there can help me with something that has bugged the s**t out of me for yonks.

I have a 30GB iPod Video. Its a bit beaten up but still going strong.

Here is the thing that is bugging me, I put tracks on there and use the Get Info function in iTunes to tag all the tracks I put on. I'm pretty meticulous and the tags are correct.

Suddenly, random tracks are not showing up on the iPod under their respective Artist "folders" - I know for a fact I have put them on there and transferred them though!

Its really annoying. I can even see that the tracks ARE on the iPod when viewing the track list in iTunes.

Anyone have a fix?

TIA

i don't know, but i suspected the ID tags were at the root of the problem. that is what you were editing in *Info*. itunes seems very sensitive to this, and can be something of a nightmare to sort out IME.

another idea would be to do a full restore on your ipod, then reload all songs. that seems like the least effort, with negligible chance to screw things up more.

then i googled the issue. plenty of useful looking reading for you here.

Cheers Cookie, I have previously Googled the issue and stuff I tried didn't cure it - admittedly its a bit ago, so I will revisit Google searches and see what's what.

Tell you what though, from your linky, one HELL of a lot of people are having the same issue by the looks of it. :(
