Well, as you enjoyed yesterday's extravaganza as much as me, and cos the wife and boys come back tonight, thought I'd make the most of 20C sunshine, and head out again, albeit a bit later as I stayed up watching Cowboys and Aliens with a few glasses of red last night
Again, up the Route de St Cezaire, to St Vallier like yesterday, but turned off the Route Napoleon after 300 metres, and headed over towards the Col de Bleine instead. Almost half an hour into the ride before the camera came out
On the D5 from St Vallier
Nuff said, further up the same road
Climbing up to the Col de Bleine, it started getting quite hazy..
Hadn't been back here since the GSA was new, over 8 years ago. It was a day old and it fell over right in front of this very sign. No such mishaps today
On the north side of the Col de Bleine heading towards St Auban, the views are pretty cool.
Lovely little road from the Col de Bleine
On the road to St Auban, not a lot of traffic around today either
The entrance to the 'Clue de St Auban'
Inside the 'Clue' not a clue what it means though
Up and over the tiny Col de Buis, turned the bike facing uphill for this photie after it falling over yesterday
Over towards Entrevaux, no sign of any pussy here though
Lunch stop in Entrevaux, nice old mediaeval town with the old fort perched high above, bugger walking all the way up there. Had a great sandwich and cafe creme instead
Was initially going to head straight back along the N202, but decided to have a scoot up to the Col du Fa, which is a dead end, road up there goes to the Gorges du Daluis, but didn't go that far today.
Well, the Col du Fa is a lovely road which climbs up then suddenly runs out and becomes a dirt track. Normally no problem to a big hairy 'Adventure' rider like me, but given the state of me tyres, thought better of it, so turned around and came down again.
Just above Castellet les Sausses, looking down over the Var valley.
Castellet les Sausses off in the distance.
Nice little village, but dead as a dodo
Back to the N202, turned right towards Annot, got a piccie of the 1200ADV here, so thought I'd get one of the 1150 too. I love these old ads
Further up the N202, heading towards the Castellane turnoff, still no traffic to speak of
Further along again, still on the N202, which is the lesser known, but equally magnifique relation of the Route Napoleon
Final photo of the N202 as we're near the turnoff to Castellane which runs along the Lac de Castillon
Tyres were starting to slide slightly, rear is not quite slick, but 'well-used' shall we say. Booked in Wednesday next week for a new pair of Anakee 2's before the Le Mans trip.

Stopped just after the dam on Lac de Castillon, which is about 5 minutes from Castellane.
Another view of Castellane, well, I couldn't post pics of the square every day could I? Sorry Luke
Still no bikes in the square though? However, saw a few more bikes out today, which is reassuring
Still bugger all traffic on the Route Napoleon, which is nice
Nothing the other way either
Last photo as this is 20 minutes from home, and I needed a cuppa badly

I'd reckon about 10,000kms, but that would be the upper estimate. I reckon they don't last as long as the roads are so twisty and tarmac is relatively warm down here, not that I ride that fast these days
