Apologies for repeating existing threads but.......Has anyone over 6' found the MRA to be an effective replacement for the OEM screen (1200 GS)?
Thanks

The one with the adjustable spoiler on the top? If so yes. Just under 6'4" and found it very effective.

Thanks. Also looking at the Givi AF 330. Seems to be the after-market choice of screen on this forum. Those being sold are marked as 04 - 09 only. Has anyone got one fitted to a 2012 model GS?

The MRA is a nice concept. BUT those with a flipped or curved up top on the main screen are nasty for turbulence. Plus, the spoiler angle increases to near vertical so gradually makes the already bad turbulence even worse. :barf

That said an MRA mounted at a shallow angle with no flip on the trailing edge could be OK. After my experience with the Yam Diversion Im not keen to buy another MRA without trying it first.

However the Product Code: COL40054 for the R850/1100GS looks like it will cause just the trouble I suffered. The low angle sports screens however do make sense.

I have one fitted to a 2010, which is the same bike as the 2012, so it will fit yours fine.

I had an MRA screen on a CBF600 a few years ago - it was noisy and buffety, but YMMV. I noticed no effect at all from the 'spoiler' thing, and altering it made no discernable difference. I'm 5'11" and wear a Schuberth R1.

The Givi screen is fantastic. In a different league from any screen I have had on any bike. It's as good as the other thread suggests, and BMW should fit them as standard.

Thanks for this, will be going for the Givi but, other then on the Givi site, most for sale seem to be for the 04-09 model. Any difficulty in finding one to fit your 2010?

Correct - there is no difference, they fit all models from 04 to 2012 ;)

I had a MRA on my first 1200 back in 2005 and it was a vast improvement on standard, probably one of the best screens around at the time.

But that was 7 years ago! My 2011 GS has a Givi AirFlow and it is infinitely superior....just a pity a tinted one is not available.
