Another Surrey Green Lane and Off-Road Tossers Wombat hunt

Grrrrrr BUMCAKES!!!!!

I've got to go and get my pontoons fitted on Sunday.......a real shame cos i was really looking forwards to my first wombat hunt.....but with Tiff's do next weekend and E.Europe a week later a visit to Vern is necessary.....

*thinks to self....Dartford...to worcester.......can i maka e a route up that passes Newlands corner?* lol.

Might just drop in and say Ello at 10....as long as everyone promises not to bet me I won't do some of the course on the Adv :D

I'm out too.
Got to go look at hospitals aparently......
See you at the next one.

I'm sorry that I can't join you guys today - I'm just too knackered after a week's skiing!

Besides, I'm hot on the trail of a pair of Talon rims for my pogo stick (as Judge so quaintly puts it!).

Keep Dr Dilloway out of the ditches and have a great day!

:(

I didn't make it either.

did something very stoopid.

Went out this morning to get some petrol in the KTM.

Wet road, brand new tyres, pair of jeans only. Lost the front end went down on my knee.

Ouch !!

Greg I picked up some tallon super moto wheels for the KTM off EBAY.

Dave - I hope that your knee's not too bad!! I expect that the jeans and some of your knee-flesh could be a bit damaged too!

:tears

I saw those wheels on eBay (I've been scanning for DR-Z wheels for months), but found some advertised elsewhere which now reside in the boot of my car!

No photo's of the outing as it was hissing down rain wise and I didn't want to get the my camera wet, but one of the Dave's (Mucky Helmet I think) had a video camera with a remote bullet camera jobie attached to his helmet.

Got some great footage I believe, including someone (ahem Mr Tickle) taking a spectacular get off!

Lets hope some edited parts make the way here.

However, another great day out with HUGE puddles of water which we all took great delight in splashing through.

I think the quote of the day should be....

That was a lot deeper than I expected!

I have close on 3 hours of footage to trawl through so I have put the first bit I found into a streaming video, I will get through the rest later in the week, as far as I can tell, Mr Tickle had a close inspection of terra firma and Mucky Helmet (not to be confused with myself of course) did quite a spectacular impression of a rodeo rider.

Follow this link http://www.sandesign.f9.co.uk/Oops.mov to get to the first bit, it is big as all videos are (those of you that peruse the 'darker' side of the net will understand...)

If you have broadband you should be OK!

To sum up the day....

Brisk, wet and amusing!

Cheers

Dave

(The better looking David out of the Muckies)

There was this puddle you see. And we just had to go through it of course. I ended up with more water up into my visor than seemed to be in the puddle. Oh and do you remember the river? (Greg) - which I had to go through twice for my picture last time - it was deeper - much deeper, much much deeper.

But 'Ditch' Dilloway did not fall off today.

Great day out.

Hi Dave,

Sorry to report that I'm getting an error on trying to look at the movie, something about a plug-in. I'm running the latest Quicktime 6.5 but no go and I tried it on two different computers. Any chance of using MPEG instead of MOV for the footage?

Regards,

Roy.

No problem I'll convert it to Mpeg tonight!

If you right click and download the file, then play it, it should work.

I use a MAC so the quicktime might have a problem translating!

:hapybnce:

OK then, who had the blue and white bike and wore a blue/black outfit with white helmet? Good job I can't remember. :D

Also where is the sound?

Look forward to some more. :D :D :D

No sound yesterday 'cos it was raining and the mic would have got too wet. I did suggest he put a plastic bag over his head for arts sake

Thanks Roy for another good day.:D

Wot software do I need to play an MP4?

RealPlayer and Windows Media Player don't want to know!

Greg

Ok I have put some bits together and posted on my website it is sitting at about 10MB in size so download with the comfort that you will be there for a while!

We (the muckies) reckon we have the position of the camera sorted so the next outing will give better footage and if isn't raining or if I can find a waterproof mic there will be sound too.

Latest bit at http://www.sandesign.co.uk/longer.mp4

Cheers

David
