Hi guys,
I need to get some new tyres fitted to my r1150gs, and I'm fairly sure I'm going to go for some Anakee 3's. The only question really is, is it normal to have a V rated tyre on the front and a H on the rear. As the tyres i have on at the moment are like that, it just seems odd to me to have 2 different rated tyres. Or am I just stupid?
I have searched the internet for answers but can't find a proper answer.
Cheers.

All it means is that you'll have to go into a 'stoppie' stance at over 130.

Good luck getting the GS over 130 anyway;) Both V and H are overspec'd for an 1150 anyway so it'll be fine. I like the Anakees, better than the 2nd hand (whatever I had kicking about in the shed) Metz/Bridgestone mix mine is wearing at the moment.

Enjoy them

lovely thanks for the reply mate. I didnt think it would do any harm, but i thought i'd check for safety sakes.
I've got avon distanzias on at the moment as thats what was on when i bought it, i'm looking forward to getting something a little bit better, as they are pretty much knackered now.
Thanks again.

You're in Basingstoke? I can probably see you out the window:thumby: I work down in Hook.

Well you'll need to be working in a pretty bloody tall building. But yup Hooks not far from Amazingstoke at all. Got my tyres in the end. Got Anakee 2s in the end as the tyre place reckoned they couldn't fit the 3s on the 1150 for some reason.

You're probably right there mate, but i can't say I was too bothered, they have to be better than the knackered Avons I had on. I cant wait until the rain stops and i can actually wear them in.

Interesting about the tyre place and fitment.I wanted Q rated tyres fitting to my bike but they wouldn't replace the fitted V rated with a Q, citing safety and saying I wouldn't be insured..

Had to take the rims in off the bike????!!

I'm obviously not a pro on the subject, but I can't see why a different rating tyre would affect your insurance as long as it's road legal.
Yeah some places require you to take the tyres in off the rim, but where i got mine done they actually stock the tyres so you ride in and ride out. Easy as that.
