Another WC test ride - Underwhelmed

@The Nutty GSer
The differences in our experiences are exactly my point about perception.
Were the revs sat dead still at 1000rpm? I know they weren't when I rode them and neither does my bike tick over quietly dead on 1000rpm.
On my bike, it seems to vary as to whether the hunt is a 200 or 400rpm...as I say, I have never really bothered to check it out in any detail.

All my bikes have done it to some degree and some more noticeably than others.
I have never has the opportunity to ride a Harley, but just listening to them ticking over makes me imagine the rev needle bouncing all over the dial.

I've not sat staring at the rev needle on my bike, or the Vines bikes, and from the way some folk describe this, I have an image of the bike revving roughly.:nenau Maybe it does vary by 30rpm or so:rolleyes:, but I can't say that I've noticed it. If it was an issue, I'd have noticed it.:thumb

Put another way, the new GS doesn't idle any differently to any of the others that I've owned.:rob

I think it is perception. None of my other boxers sat at a steady idle, this one moves about 100rpm. The HP2 is far worse...

I only noticed it as the boxer engine was very different to what I was used to with my other bikes and so the apparent hunting was quite obvious to me.

However, unless the idle hunting is so bad that its causing the bike to stall....there's no problem as far as I can see....just character :thumb
