With 1150's it was crap lights, poor quality paint and fragile FD's and poorly designed screens.
With oil head 12's it was FPC's, ring antennae, poor quality paint, FD's and poorly designed screens.

Now that some of the Bog bikes are getting towards being run in have any generic issues come to light?

I am actually seriously considering a change as my almost faultless 1150 is 10 years old this year and almost to 90,000 miles. Despite several FD bearing failures it has never left me stranded at the side of the road.

A major concern for me is that the WC, I refuse to call it LC as oil is a liquid too, has the same bore and stroke as the oil head 12's and if the con rod length is also unchanged the same issues of harsh power pulses and ensuing transmission/FD problems may appear. Any issues yet?

P.S., if i do buy one I want a Hooton touring front crud catcher engraved with the words "Bog Bike" and ten years supply of ACF 50 or similar (better?) jollop.:beerjug:

The only generic issue with this bike seems to be its ability to attract the attention of trolls who are green with jealousy because they can't afford one. But I think we should recalibrate on that one once the bikes have started to hit 50k miles, and they become more affordable.

The only generic issue is that the appearance of the best GS so far winds up the jealous ones who have nailed their flags so tightly to old technology that their cognitive dissonance has gone off the scale.

Corrosion (fastners and discs) and paint quality (front engine cover and frame) would all seem to be issues so far - all from reports in this section.

When have problems not occurred with manufactured products? when does it become a generic issue? when it is 0.01%, 0.1%, 1%, 10%..........of the total production to date? How long does one wait before the stats are valid?

It would seem like those who are suffering the greatest cognitive dissonance (1150/1200/triumph/ktm) owners) require the lowest % of faults before they decide the problem is generic, not only are they suffering psychological pain they are crap at stats too :D

If you are including me in that statement you do so erroneously.:D

You know....You are so right!
I yearn for the day I can actually afford one of these lovely new bikes, just the deposit would do, so that I can experience the joys of new bike ownership once more:thumb2
I can then go back to trying to catch a glimpse of myself in shop windows and enjoy once more, the adoration of other bikers.
And all the time knowing that they know that I am wedged right up.....It truly is a great feeling.
I am green with envy, however, I would never stoop so low as to ridicule others who can afford my dream, as that would just be childish and negative.
I hope to remain positive in the eventual hope that I may afford one in the near future.:beerjug:
Enjoy your ride, I remember when things were good for me, that feeling was the best in the world.

Save your pennies ATT, then you to can enjoy thinning of the skin - :P

Only got it for 2 hours for the test drive. Pros plenty, cons ... so far one - poor wind protection surprisingly, draft up me belly. No winglets are in the perspective for some reason...maybe later, when ADV is out.
Design is a bit dodgy methinks, too much clutter, buttons, wheels and such.
Matter of taste though. Placed an order anyway. Generic issues be known in year or so, not before.

And you know what ? Doesn't feel like an old fart bike anymore..
