Any of you Tossers ride a pushbike?

It's addictive Ronno. Looks like you've made a good start. Don't get too hung up on Strava but it is a good gauge of how your own personal progress is going.
I've now got some riding buddies in France that I've got to know via Strava... another Brit plus a French and a Dutch guy. All faster than me but they ride with me and don't just piss off.

Forget Strava - it's just a fop to our current media cravings. :blast
just get out and pedal and enjoy the true sport of kings - also learn that it's all about your legs and not what you can buy. Unlike the GS world entry into serious cycling requires hard core commitment and sacrifice and not a bulging wallet :thumb

I take your points about Strava. And already know that it's all about your legs, Trev. Mine were like jelly earlier :D :beerjug:

I've got another session of my VQ Racing class tonight. Our coach is an ex pro racer, with the personality of an army drill sargent. If he thinks you're not working hard enough, he'll come up behind you yelling, "You're slacking off! Keep those rpms up! If you're not coughing up blood and vomit after every class, you're not riding hard enough!"

The class began with 24 riders; after eight weeks we're down to only four. :eek

You would have thought by now he'd have realised the errors of his ways....

I hope he is getting paid by the number of successful passes
I winterised mine, a better headlamp, twin rear lamps, long alloy mudguards and some 3M tape here and there, only a few miles each day, but I am going better up the hills and its feeling easier, I still have to remain within my cardiac comfort zone though but everything is improving.

I suppose it depends on what he's trying to achieve. Becoming a pro-racer requires not just ability, but tremendous discipline and drive. Perhaps his thinking is that if he hammers his students hard enough, eventually he'll find someone possessing the qualities to become the next Fabian Cancelara (his personal hero). :nenau

£10-£1000?
Magic shine always come out well. Serious light.
I have a lumicycle HID. Pencil beam for road riding but very very bright!

I guess the old Ever Ready doesn't cut it any more?

Erm....no
Depends what you want to do. Commuting, nice bright but not blinding light. Unlit lanes, brighter light, off road...bright asoss and good spread of light. Horses for courses
