What's with all the stopping for photographs bit?
Stopping all the time to take photos won't help your training either![]()

I blasted around my usual circuit nonstop. Gets the heart rate up and opens the sweat glands. Delivers satisfaction whilst feeling bolloxed.

I'm pushing myself pretty hardFelt fantastic about it tbh, managed to cycle up "killer hill" (14% for one mile) in one hit last night too...first time ever without having to walk a bit even on the MTB!
100% same here, was fucked last night sweating more than I have in about the last 5 yearsI'm pushing myself pretty hard

Chris you should take my advice, spin easier gears take it a bit easier and ride for longer, you will get fitter and be faster when you need to be, otherwise ignore all posts but your own...![]()
" for your comment about me stopping to take pictures! I meant it to be taken lightheartedly. Chris you should take my advice, spin easier gears take it a bit easier and ride for longer, you will get fitter and be faster when you need to be, otherwise ignore all posts but your own...![]()
Not sure - I thought it sounded high myself. I'm just going to stick to pedalling faster than before, in a lower gear effectively maintaining a similar road speed but with less energy used so I can do it for longer. I'm not going to be that scientific about it.90 is excessive. I thought 40-60 was optimum.

Do you use a heart rate monitor?

We have one called Sugarloaf hill, and it's claimed to be the steepest climb in the state of Florida. Last week I climbed it for the first time. Halfway up, I'd already passed all the other riders, with one to go. As I closed in on him, I recognized the rider as Dale Serge, a pro-racer who lives in my area. I reached the top only seconds before he did, and couldn't wait to tell all my mates that I'd actually beaten Dale Serge up Sugarloaf.![]()
My elation was shortlived, as he told me that he was on his 29th consecutive climb, practicing for an upcoming race.He did three more climbs as my mates and I were resting at the top, for a total of 32.

I'm top 10 on Strava for the descent (it is proper scetchy in places and I'm a thrill seeker, I know I'm too old to think/act like this but can't help myself
