Anyone compared Schuberth/BMW flips against Caberg Justissimo

I've gone and done it!

Bought a Justi today.

We'll see how it goes over the next few days.

£140.00p-not a bad price methinks?

The saga goes on.....

I test rode my new Caberg yesterday in dreadful conditions - freezing fog throughout my 2 hour ride. It didn't fog up at all but the fog condensed on the outside of the visor causing problems until the water formed droplets and rolled off. The reduced speed probably didn't help either - no wind pressure to blow off the water.

Did get some dripping inside the visor so I had a look at the seal when I got home.

The seal (at the top of the visor) is ^ shaped and I can see how water off the helmet crown can just flow straight down off the front, past the seal and into the helmet unless its firmly closed.

Compared my Justi with my mates and found his seal to be completely different! His was D shaped and sealed at the bottom.

Strange.

One is obviously a later 'improved' design - but which one?

Just been chatting to my mate "in the trade" and he tells me Premier are due to bring out a flip front a little like the Roof Boxer (with a chin piece that folds all the way over the back) and a slide down tinted visor. If I get any more details I'll post them.

Cheers

Dick

ps my rubber is "D" shaped. fnarr fnarr :D

It's all relative. I love the current concept-quietest helmet I've ever owned-depends what you are used to I guess. Tried the Caberg-sunvisor hit the bridge of my nose-cutting in-guess I need a new nose
Explorer;)

For anyone that noted my comments on the 'smearly' visor on my Justissimo I finally contacted Motrax (distributors). There was a problem with early models were the anti-fog was attached to both sides  You can tell if your visor has 'yellowed' it's the old ones (And you can see it on mine at the edges).
Motrax sent a replacement visor straight out to me :thumb so all credit to them. Sorted :D

I'm waiting to see what this new BMW system V helmet is going to be like, anyone got more info?

Though I admit they are nice and quiet, I don't like the confined feel of integral helmets. I have a Caberg Downtown for car track days which is Jet style with integral sunscreen. Lovely, but not much use for bikes.

I also have a BMW System 4 flip top which is fine except for the lack of tinted visors and internal sunscreen. SLM have some of the Caberg flip tops in stock and I tried one. Great sunscreen, but no flap at the neck area to stop draughts coming up, so no thanks.

Two types of beading have been used on Justissimo helmets. One type of beading is simicircular, the other type is v shaped, a bit like a windscreen wiper. I am about to get my third helmet, this time I have asked that they supply me one with the v shaped beading. I hope that the v shaped bead has solved the problem. As far as I can work out the v shaped beading is the new type.

None of you have mentioned the Laser Revolution.
I have one,it is superb through the winter as the visor is double glazed and DOES NOT mist up,in any weather, even without the fighter pilot style face mask.
It has an integral slide down tinted visor too.
The liner is a pull out, machine washable type.
Mine was £199 a few years ago,but you can get them for around £125 now.

I find the Concept the noisiest helmet I've ever owned. Great in every other way though.

I tried on a C2 today. I have a XS Concept that is okay but just a little bit loose-ish. The XXS C2 fitted brilliantly until I came to shut the flip front. My chin got in the way!

So I was was very dissapointed as the C2 is supposed to be much quieter than the Concept and it felt really good - sigh!

The shop was the one on the hill out of Guildford towards the A31. It's at the back of the filling station. They're selling Concepts for £200.

The C2 was £350

I've bought a Caburg Justisimo and a BMW Systen 4 in the last couple of months.

The BMW fits me better but I like the flip down inner sun visor of the Caburg. The noise level seems to be the same.

Anyone want to buy a white Justisimo used for 50 miles, £110? :)

I was seriously tempted by the Shuberth purely for the sun visor but in the end opted for the System 4. With the latter I bought the peak and cheek pieces. Having three helmets for the price of one seemed a better deal than just getting the drop down sun visor.

Mr Dammerung can I ask how much you paid for the peak and side bits?
