Yes it has been done .
by 'the dogs nuts run ' i think. no doubt one of them will be able to help you.

If you scoot on you could do it in 1 day:thumb:thumb

??? Do you not like a challenge??

But i would agree ,it would be far better to take at least three days and enjoy it.:thumb2

Thanks Schtum.:thumb2.
If its doable in 24 hours... looks like Its got the bones of a good plan, all being well I'll start from stranraer tuesday morning , I hope to pass through fortwilliam / mallaig and skye /swing by West point then North onto East then back to Stranraer,

It would certainly be a challenge to do it on 24 hours. But to be honest, you'd be missing out on some of the very best roads and scenery Scotchland has to offer. Do it over at least a couple of days.

We took a week -plenty of time to go and look at other things...

I fancy doing it again...but will miss out the most easterly point- Peterhead is a shit hole

You don't so much "swing by" Ardnamurchan as make the 25 mile trek out from Salen to Ardnamurchan point on the single-track B 8007. Probably best to allow at least a couple of hours for the return trip. If you need to stop for food, there's the Sonochan Hotel on the road out of Kilchoan to the Point. Good food and a bunkhouse should you decide to stay.

Thanks for comments,:thumb

Looking forward to next week all being well and no unforseen surprises;
Ill be trying to complete the route in about 24-30 hours... weather permitting!

I didnt have any luck putting in sat nav co-ordinates into nav111 as I think I need more detailed digits ( degrees/minutes/ seconds)
I'll try to make time to get sorted by monday and use the three light houses as reference points however peterhead will be interesting locating its best reference point for east location.

Klanky's link was very handy:thumb

HASTE YE BACK!!.....

What a great message on the back of town signs

Just back on thursday and I had a great time !!
I had no true appreciation how considerable and stunning a place Scotland was until riding and exploring a total of 1997km of roads and tracks to each of the four points of Scotland in just three days

(Stranraer Mull Of Galloway / PeterHead / John O Groats + Dunnet Head / Iske of skye /Ardnamurchan point Stranraer )

My route was riding south, east, north, then west:
Mull of Galloway to Peterhead to J O Groats and Dunnet head then along the west coast through some of the best scenery scotland has to offer through valleys and glens and single track roads and deserted roads that encouraged foolish speeds and a grin on my face that will be relished for many a year

Thanks for your comments and advice ...I will post a few Photos and a write up later

what more can I say about the trip except ...

HASTE YE BACK!!.....:flag
