Just looking to shoot the breeze or get ideas ext....

I've allways wanted a gsxr 1000 and think its the time 40ish years old so better do it soon :beerjug:
looking to mothball the R1150gs in a corner of the garage and get the gsxr and see how I get on with it this year and come next year sell either the suzuki or bmw depending on how I get on with a sports bike this year.
anyone got suggestions on this ???
cheers dudes.

Why not run both together? Insurance won`t be much different if any so it is really only the road fund that is costing you extra.
If you go with your plan, unless you only go for short weekend blasts I bet you end up keeping the GS.

its the money and (her indoors) that stops me running both. Also when th GS is locked away it will be in a family garage down the road so not easy to keep two bikes on the go.
I was thinking that sorning and moving the insurance to the new bike would make sense and save costs.
I recon I may go back to the gs but all my biking days I have looked at the blue & white gsxr with envy. Just hope its not crap when I try one LOL

I am sure the gixxer will be an awesome piece of kit but on the roads you will need to be in licence loosing or dying territory to even get close to its potential.
From a cost point of view there is virtually no difference (apart from the road fund licence) in running between one and four bikes once you actually own them.
To save on the road fund you could do 6 months on each, run the gixxer in the Summer and the GS in the Winter
