I am thinking of buying a pair of the BMW GS1 Enduro boots and wondered if any of you had experiences of them you could share with me:beerjug:

Hi lamurada,

You've already seen the posts about buckle troubles!

IMHO they look good - if you don't mind some people sniggering - I see kids pointing at them as I ride by - I reckon they're impressed.:P

They're comfortable, pretty protective but not waterproof. the high moulded gearchange re-inforcement really needs the gear lever adjusting to be comfortable - I use the welt of the sole for upchanges else I'd be adjusting the lever between footwear changes.

And they fekkin squeek (yes, I have paid for them).

Most of my GS riding is visiting clients so I've got some less conspicuous HG Tuareg Rally boots for everyday wear which are waterproof and don't look daft with ordinary duds.

GS1s now get used for for trials or when out for a 'burn'.

Just read my own post - the high bit is on the outside of the boot! I must have been putting them on the wrong feet!

Still, they are quite 'tall' in the toe department - so the adjustment but still goes (for me anyway)

I've had mine for around a year.... they are very comfy, warm too,
they make your feet a bit pungent when you've had them on all day in hot weather, there is the buckle issue, which I easily fixed with some of those tiny dots of velcro in appropriate places, your feet do get wet, however in p*ssing rain conditions I found with my oversuit trousers as far down over the ankle bit as possible my feet stayed dry all day... would I buy another pair? possibly
although I may be tempted by a pair of alpinestar tech 8's next time....................
