Hi, I am thinking of trading in my GSA TC for a GS WC.

Are there any WC owners out there who have fitted the Givi rails/boxes to their bike?

I have had Givi boxes for years so when I bought my GSA, I fitted the Givi rails to the GSA.
The boxes are of equal size and the rails come out on the non-exhaust side an equal amount so that from the back it looks the same on both sides of the bike.

Looking on the Givi website it looks as if the rails for the GS WC are offset so that to look equal from the back, you need to have one box smaller than the other.

Could you comment if I have understood this correctly. If so, it makes getting the BMW varios an option.

Thanks,
Alan

Hi scottpa!
Not a big response to that was there...
Just waiting for my 15 Gs and I have a set of 33L Trekkers I wanted to use... Did you go for the givi frames?
By the look of the givi site it seems the rear indicators have to be relocated... Any info on this??

I investigated a few options before actually fitting a full set of luggage from BUMOT, put a big thread up here about it with pictures, it's done 7k miles now, not leaked, still looks like new and is very sturdy ally luggage.

Ordered the waterproof soft panniers to go with my kreiga gear. The GSA is heavy and metallic enough and I value my ankles.

My bike will be lighter than most gs,s with metal panniers.

Hi R800,
I noticed that about having to move the indicators and it kind of put. me off. In the end I got a good deal on the varios so I went with those. So I can't really help you.

I have the black Givi boxes (aluminium) fitted to my GS 2013 plate. Pretty good as far as capacity/looks and they fit to the bike with a bit of minor fettling. The bolt that is supposed to fit through the footrest was too large a head so I reused the BMW torq bolts, I also had to open up the holes to get them to align but managed to fit them without removing the exhaust. Sometimes one of the boxes is reluctant to come off the bike but I think that will improve with a little wear and time...The indicators look like they don't need relocating though I only found this out after I had fitted the frames...
The top box arrangement is the same as the old givi Maxia box which I am using at the moment but I did have a look at the Ali top box at the bike show and I am tempted (58litres).
All in all good tough boxes, not cheap but look very OE so far they are waterproof too (god just jinxed myself there)
I think I paid just under £800 for the racks and boxes.

Ok Mate

I really like the look of the Outback 42L. No dealers stock these in Sydney so I have to order and be stuck with it if I do not like it. I manly use a. Givi V46 and the larger Maxia 55L but prefer to look of the Aluminium, but will it fit what I jam into my V46?

I bought a set of givi trekkers yesterday for my GSA, I got the 37L right 47L left and the monster 58L top box oh yeh :-) also picked up the racks, top box ally mount, hand guard extenders, tall adventure screen & a 20L quick lock tank bag kit all givi.. should have it all by the end of the week so I'll post a few pics.... :jager

Hi - I'm looking for the same setup to my 2014 R1200GS. Can you post photos of GIVI OUTBACK please?

I have ended up with the Givi 58 Ltr top box and the BMW Adventure side cases.

Only issue is that the 58 ltr top box stops you from opening the Tops of the BMW boxes using the hinge method. You have to undo the entire lid and place it on the bikes saddle to access the side cases properly. That 58 Ltr box is bloody wide, but the capacity it gives far outweighs the very small inconvenience of undoing the side cases.

Totally agree with this. The fact that the larger top box takes two full size lids makes it a no brainer for me.

Agreed with all above!
