Whilst doing some other stuff to the bike while on tour found this !!!! see pics
what do you think I checked the bolts they were the correct torque.

could this be repaired ???

Are we talking here of rear wheel mounting bolts & cracked wheel...
Or something on the FD??... a photo not zoomed in so close would be good to give a better perspective
 
If I was a gambling man, I'd say that the wheel has been impact gunned up. The damage is classic signs of overtightening.
That wheel is scrap.

You OWN a R1200GS and you can't recognise the rear wheel bolts? :nenau
 
Er the wheel (or at least the hub anyways) is scrap. For safety reasons I probably wouldnt use it either. Looks like its been seriously overtightened at some point in the past - the bolts also may be stretched if enough torque has been applied to cause that kind of damage.
 
I always remove my wheels for tyre changes, that way I know they are correctly torqued, I certainly would not trust tyre fitters (or BMW tech's for that matter) to bother taking the extra few seconds to do the job properly.

I suspect this is many cycles of over-tightening (possibly helped by low quality metal) and every monkey who has done the bolts up using the patented "bicep gauge" is partly to blame.
 
I would think the cracked webs are not adding to the strength of the hub. The cracked webs could be ground away and if the cracks have not penetrated further into the hub than the portion you can grind away then the hub should be OK.

Then again, I am not a metallurgist and it's not my life on the line.
