OSMand definitely supports Android Auto. Not sure about the other one though. I like OSMand but would say this........if you find Garmin Basecamp a challenge you are going to hate OSMand
A question about the mounting of these units.
Is the mount like, say, a garmin XT where you just remove the display unit and leave the electrics behind, or something else?

I’ve reviewed both and I personally prefer the C9

Just of note to other Hex R1200GS Adv owners - The nav bar seems to be a bit thicker than newer models and a bit of tweaking (sanding) was needed to get the mount parts flush with it. The two parts don't touch but it's a nice solid clasp and I don't foresee an issues.
Also, if you're not replacing existing mount then you will need to get some nuts and bolts to secure.

I have bought a C6 Pro to use with my 2024RT. I am thinking about fitting above the TFT screen on a stick on satnav mount from Nippy Norman . Has anyone any experience of this or advice?
I cant see a pic in link but i used a stick on mount for my tom tom on my RT with no issues. Mine had a ram mount ball and used a short arm onto my tom tom.

I haven’t fitted it - I’ve sold the C6 Pro deciding not to go that route. However, I do have the mount on order from Aliexpress and will use it to fit my Garmin XT
Fitted mine to the 1290 Adv. Cracking bit of kit. Lots of cables to run to make a neat job and as I'm Mr Neat, it had to be done. I bought a metal bar/bracket that sandwiches between the main KTM screen and its mounting bracket as well as the bar amps mount from Alibaba £25 total. It's rock solid.... not like the KTM screen mount. Excellent result so long as its reliable. I get to use MyRouteApp which is a joy to use. Waze to spot professional cameramen.
