What a load of £$&@,

I removed the peak and visor of my Arai Tour X3 to clean the anti-fog insert and the visor itself, all went fine.

But when refitting the unit everything seems to fit ok, however when I wear the lid and try to move the visor it is incredibly stiff when lowered and extremely loose when in the higher position, making it difficult to open and it would seem like it would just fall down if i'm riding fast.

It's pretty frustrating, the screws on the side of the lid are done up as tight as they can be, is this correct? Can anyone give some advice to resolve my issue.

Oh... and just to rub salt into the wounds, the Arai manual I found in the box is clearly for a different helmet, grrr.

Cheers,
Ben

Hey up fella, i have just quickly stripped mine and took some pics so hopefully it will help.

Firstly make sure the black locking rings are on the correct way:
right side:

then left side :

then when you fit the visor, make sure that the visor sits "over and ontop of" the black lock rings, they flex when you lift and close to provide resistance. you will feel the visor "snap" into place, making sure the visor is in the down position and locked:

when you come to fitting the peak, do this with the visor in the locked closed position, line the beak up applying pressure as you will feel it locate as you gently lift the peak until it sits perfectly in place:

tighten up both screws on one side first before tightening the other side.
these do not need to be over tight, just hand tight then quater turn.

hope this helps matey. failing that take it to your local Hein Gericke and they can sort it for you F.O.C :thumb2
